New Products update March 2026

There are a few new exciting products which we have added to the site this month as well as some older ones which are back in stock. Let’s start with the most exciting to me.

Smoothieboard V2 Core, Proto 1

This is the much requested V2 Core board. It is the stripped down version of the V2 Prime, it retains the same MCU, features and options but eliminates the onboard stepper drivers and Higher power FET outputs.

In place of the stepper drivers there is a 40-pin 2.54mm(.100″) header which includes all of the logic signals that would normally go to the onboard drivers. This allows easy connection of breakouts that can be custom built, or simply a harness going to external drivers.

This type of board has been one of the most requested options since the V2 board was announced. There are a significant number of users who wanted this due to running exclusively external stepper drivers (and/or using the board more like a PLC).

Next up in the V2 ecosystem we have the 6 axis breakout.

The 6 axis breakout expands the V2 board to allow for use of all 6 axes including endstops. This also adds 4 small FETs (2N7002) all of which are HWPWM.
There is also headers for UART0 and an E-stop button.

Endstops are buffered and ESD protected, all other signals are level shifted using bidirectional level shifters.

The 40 pin header allows design of custom breakouts (e.g. DB25, harness, driver board). All of the onboard headers are represented.

Third new product is a 3.3V<>5V Level Shifter board.

This is a mosfet based Bidirectional level shifter. It will operate (mostly) transparent to the host and should require little/no configuration adjustment.

It will also work without the V2 Smoothieboard for typical logic level signal shifting.

These are in stock and ready to ship.

Finally, we have Authentic Smoothieboard V1.1

In house production has been setup for all variants of the Smoothieboard V1.1. Currently, all variants are available on backorder and will be produced in house as needed. Long term stock will progressively be established but for now all boards will be built on demand.

Quite a few more expansion boards and products in the pipeline. More updates to come.
