Sometimes, when attempting to produce items you forget little things while focused on the bigger things.
Like bagging connectors for instance. This is one of those time consuming things that anyone with an electronics based project has had to deal with.
In the past, we have bagged our own connectors with V1 Smoothie…but that didn’t last long. Soon after starting we had our CM in China bag them up for us so they all came pre-packaged.
During sourcing of parts I did order connectors that would be needed for the fulfillment but I kept sidelining the whole “bag them up” thing until the very end.
Since I needed a fast way to do this myself I came up with a way that also reuses some Sports drink bottles that would otherwise be trash.
Start with whatever large mouth sports drink bottle you happen to have on hand and cut the bottom out.
I used a 3″ hole saw and it happened to fit perfect. I did this by hand with no power tools.
Next, make a hole for a bolt at about 20mm from the bottom of the bottle and attach it to a section of Tslot.
Then I attached some binder clips to the mouth of the bottle using zipties.
Using 5 bottles I got this.
Every 10 seconds you save per bag adds up when you are doing hundreds or thousands. Plus, it keeps a bit of trash out of the wastecycle for a little bit longer.
